Well, I hope you all had a lovely Labor Day weekend. The Head Rat and I watched the extended versions of all three Lord of the Rings movies. And, of course I spent time with my shredder. Other than that, it was pretty ugly here in the Ratlands. I got multiple calls from work each night and ended up spending a couple of hours at work early Monday morning. I had sort of planned to go to bed early over the weekend to try to re-set my internal clock, but when you don’t get home til 3:00, getting up at 6:00 just doesn’t work all that well. Don’t get me wrong, I like my job and I like having a job, but the weekend inspired me to adopt a personal motto.
I picked it out, but I was having trouble deciding exactly how to say it. It conveys slighly different meaning, depending on how you emphasize it. In the end, I asked my staff for help today, basically soliciting their opinion as to which version seemed to be the most appropriate for me. The choices were as follows:
1) I hate people.
2) I hate people.
3) I hate people.
It was nearly unanimous. The staff mostly seem to think that #3 captures the essence of what makes me special.
