Saturday Night clean up

Actually working for a living again has done a number on me.  Part of it is that my new boss and I have been out and about setting up equipment and retrieving equipment.  I’ve spent more time outdoors during the heat of the day in the last 72 hours than I have the entire rest of the summer.  Given that it’s been 100°+, I didn’t hydrate properly, and I’ve gone from sitting at a computer to actually being on my feet 8 hours a day, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that I’m worn out.

Believe me, I’m not complaining.  Working in a relaxed environment, with people who seem genuinely likeable and aren’t looking for an edge in the office politics wars is really refreshing.  I could wear shorts and a t-shirt to work if I wanted, as long as the t-shirts don’t have any overt political statements (we do work with law enforcement and the courts).  I won’t wear the shorts, as they don’t make eye protection strong enough to counteract the glare off my white legs.  (I guess a welder’s mask would work, but who would wear a welder’s mask for eye protection in the summer in Kansas.)  I asked the Boss about my “Peace through Superior Firepower” t-shirt.  He said no, but he had to think about it for a few seconds.

Anyway, it looks like I’ll be working quite a bit for the next several days, as one of the other two employees is now on vacation.  I thought I should clean out the browser tabs tonight, as I may not get to it again for a while.  So,

A post at Three Sources questioning whether Ron Paul’s Audit the Fed bill is a good idea.  This post is the source of the quote of the day:

But the equation “X is bad, therefore add Congress” has few if any real values for ‘X.’

3 links to posts at Doug Ross@Journal:  a Venn diagram explaining the Democratic Party, a collection of “Condescending Wonka” graphics, and my personal favorite, information about a 4 shot¹, titanium concealed carry .45 that’s just a bit bigger than an iPhone.

Finally, in lieu of a flyswatter, I want a Bugasalt.

‡Just go look at it.  It has 2 barrels and holds 2 rounds chambered and two in an internal magazine.  Like I said, just go look.
