Relief for movie collectors

If you are like me, you own a lot of movies.  If you are as old as I am you probably started collecting your favorites on VHS.  Now you collect them on DVD and are probably contemplating the move to Blu-ray.  And, you probably have a list of dozens, if not hundreds, of movies you still want to buy.  The list keeps getting longer, because your resources are finite and you have to split your purchases between classics (or not-so-classics) and the new stuff.

I am happy to report that relief is in sight.  You can quit worrying about new stuff, because there won’t be any.  Hollywood is officially out of ideas.  How do I know?

They are getting ready to re-make Barbarella.

I want details on this re-make! Please keep me posted, will you? I happen to be old enough to have not only paid good money to see the original in a theater (not a cineplex mind you… a real theater) but, if I remember correctly, I’m pretty sure I actually enjoyed this campy little romp of Jane’s. If it plays on late-night t.v., I will most likely (without of course announcing it to the whole world!) try to make time to watch it. I am eager to watch the original with my two adolescent sons (for later comparison and contrast to the re-make of course) just to see what kind of conversation it generates. Have no fear my friend, Hollywood is alive and doing quite well these days. Maybe not THE Hollywood but… Hey! Speaking of “Having no fear” Guess who’s coming to a theater near you this summer? Yup… Underdog is here!
Oh! Oh! Oh! AND… TRANSFORMERS!!!! Robots in disguise dude!!! (See what I mean?)
