Home on the Range

The Head Rat and I just got back from a relaxing afternoon at the range.  I still can’t find my camera, so I guess there won’t be any pictures of her targets.

The short version of the story is:  She’s pretty good.  She was consistently putting 14 of 15 shots in the center mass area of the target at about 4 yards.  Not world class accuracy, but kind of amazing given she is completely right-handed and was shooting with her left hand.  (She can’t hold the gun with her right because of the shoulder surgery.  She isn’t even supposed to be lifting any weight with it yet.)  That, and she had never shot a pistol before.

The 9mm is really just a bit too big for her hand, so we’re looking for a .380 for her.  I think it would be much easier for her to handle, and if my measurements are correct, the new Ruger .380 will fit inside my phone case.  (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more…)

Pretty good? 14 to 15 rounds center mass for a righty who is shooting a pistol for the first time with her left hand? Sounds world class to me.
